Welcome to Scottish Terrier Health Network
We are a small group of Scottish Terrier Owners/Breeders based in the United Kingdom wishing to tackle the more serious side of Scottie Health. Scotties in general are a healthy breed. However there are a few diseases, some quite specific to Scotties, that we believe require more focussed attention and it is with this in mind that our Network was born.
Ideally it would be great to be able to visit one place in which to find beneficial information regarding our Scotties; we know that this is not really possible – but with your help and contributions we’ll give it a thoroughly good try.
If you would like to help or support our Network in any way, please use the “Contact Us” form to get in touch – we really do need your support, or more importantly, our beloved Scotties need your support.
Here’s a guide to how our site is set up ….
The rotating pictures at the top feature those health issues that currently seem to be affecting our Scotties more often. In general, these features will remain in place.
Your Stories
In order to support the factual articles this site hopes to bring to you, we also want to share your real-life stories that reinforce those articles. So, please, if you have experienced any health issues with your Scottie, or are currently going through health problems with your Scottie, we would like to hear from you. You may be able to help another Scottie family struggling to understand the best way forward.
Nutrition
There’s plenty of manufacturers out there concentrating on producing healthier options for our dogs. We’ll highlight a few of these on a regular basis.
Also, we have found several “health diets” that you might find interesting to read about. Before embarking on these, do chat with your Vet first to ensure they are happy for you to make those changes to your Scotties diet.
Tasty Nibbles are doggie related recipes for you to make yourselves. They will have been tried out by our very own Scotties, but again, do make sure that your Scottie is not allergic to any of the ingredients within these recipes.
On the Bright Side
We shall also be bringing to you “Website of the Month”. This will be a website that we hope you will find as interesting as we do. We are in no away associated or affiliated to the websites so don’t think we are receiving financial gain, or that you will be embroiled in signing up for “stuff” once you’ve “clicked” on their image. The websites are simply places of interest that we want to share with you.
We’ll also offer up some other interesting Scottie related places for you to visit.
This site is constantly under construction, so keep returning as we are working daily to bring you stories, articles, information and factual reports relating to the health and well being of our beloved Scottish Terriers.
Taylor recently received The Reality Blog Award, and you are now the only blog that we would love to pass this award to! Please click here for more details: http://iadoptedadog.com/2013/04/08/our-acceptance-speech-for-the-reality-blog-award/
Thank you Jessica for this. Gonna have to concentrate now on our speech – might be gone for a while! Seriously though, this is much appreciated – thanks again.
