I am pleased to announce that, although no eligible TCC affected Scotties have yet been found, two major “franchised” Veterinary Surgeries have rallied to the cause and are helping me search. Veterinary Centres and surgeries local to me, have been contacted, many of whom have agreed to check.
If you are based in the UK and know of any scottie suffering from bladder cancer, if you can, please tell the owners of this survey.
Finlay has had a few hiccups over the last week, but I’ll post an update on that separately.
I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to all of you helping in this search.
What exactly do you mean by ” hiccups? “ Our Scottie on rare occasions first thing in the morning will spit up a little yellowish liquid. The vet advised that this was an acid-reflux thing and that we should give him a snack at bedtime. That has worked well. The episodes only seem to occur when he has chewed up something that he ” stole ” such as a marker pen or, last time, a fingernail file that was left within his reach.

Good luck with your search.
We had a similar problem and was also advised to give a small meal at bedtime – and it worked. The “hiccup” relates to me changing the medication for his TCC and Finlay coincidentally having a raging temperature. Took him to the vets who firmly suggested I stick with the Metacam; but in typically Scottish Terrier style, I’ve decided to keep Finlay on the Apocaps as these tablets are specifically geared up to dealing with cancers. He’s responding well, considering. But I’m hoping to get around to uploading a post shortly. Thanks for your concern, it is much appreciated.
Now I know why Mac has such clean teeth – he obviously steals white marker pens!!!!
