Scottie Health Awareness Day 2014

Today starts the countdown to Scottish Terrier Health Awareness Day :

11th July 2014.

Last year’s Awareness Day was a bit rushed, but this year we’re reminding everyone that it’s looming up in good time for each and every one of us to do something on The Day. It may only be a walk in the park, or coffee with your friends, or the lighting of a candle – but if we all do a little something that causes us to think about the health of our scotties, then that’ll be great. We’ll be creating an Album after the event to share all your photos. So get thinking about what you might be able to do.

The “official” tartan we use is “Pride of Banockburn”. Bobby, my scottie, has been wearing his all year – it’s rather grimy at the moment as he does like walking through muddy puddles, so I must wash it at some time. If you cannot get hold of this particular tartan, then any tartan will do. It’s a focal point. It makes many people stop and ask “why is your scottie wearing that tartan ribbon” which then gives me the opportunity to let them know all about Scottie Health.

So even if all you do is wear a tartan ribbon that’ll be fine by us – but we will need you to send in your photos, on the day then afterwards I’ll create that Album i mentioned earlier.
